Definition: session virtualization


A thin client environment in which the OS and applications run in the server and are shared with multiple users at terminals. Also called "hosted application delivery" and "shared sessions," Microsoft's Terminal Services, Remote Desktop Services and Citrix's XenApp are examples of this architecture.
