Definition: AT&T Internet

Internet service from AT&T. Originally part of a triple play (Internet/TV/phone) under AT&T U-verse, the U-verse brand was dropped in 2016. In the U.S., AT&T Internet offers low-speed DSL, high-speed fiber and a hybrid fiber-DSL service. The latter, known as Internet Protocol Broadband (IPBB), provides speeds up to 500 Mbps and uses fiber to a local multiplexer and DSL from there to the subscriber's premises (see DSLAM). With fiber options up to 5 Gbps, none of these services span the entire country. See AT&T U-verse and AT&T WorldNet.
